Apple's upcoming Smartwatch Series 6 supports blood oxygen sensing

Apple's upcoming Smartwatch Series 6 supports blood oxygen sensing

Apple began working on the next version of the smartwatch, as the tech giant adds more features to monitor user health in this version, among which comes a sensor to measure the level of oxygen in the blood.

Apple seeks to improve the efficiency of its smartwatch to support users with more efficiency in health features, so the company is preparing to add more technologies in Series 6.

The blood oxygen level sensor feature has been detected in the code for the iOS 14 update, and the new feature is based on pushing health notifications that show the oxygen level, where the oxygen level remains in the normal level between 95% to 100%, while the watch begins to push notifications in the event The oxygen level is below 95%.

Also, this feature can support the user in following the hypoxia due to anemia, which may lead to strokes or heart attacks for the user.

The new feature is expected to emulate Apple's current ECG feature, which monitors the electrocardiogram and alerts the user when monitoring a change in heart rate.

It is noteworthy that the leaks did not confirm the payment of the feature of measuring blood oxygen in the current version of the Series 5 watch, but the leaks indicate that Apple will pay this feature in the Series 6 and the WatchOS 7 update for 2020.
